What Can I E-File In TaxSlayer Books?

You can e-file your W-2's and W-3, however, you must first be registered with the Social Security Administration. You can find detailed instructions by visiting the HELP-E-File option in TaxSlayer Books program.

TaxSlayer Books allows you to e-file your 1099s and 1096 as well.  Before you will be able to transmit the 1099s electronically you will need to register for a Transmitter Control Code (TCC) using Form 4419 that you can get at the IRS website (www.irs.gov). You will also need to "Create New Account" with the Fire System at the website (fire.irs.gov) if you haven't already done so.

You can also e-file your 941 Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return. This requires you to be registered with the IRS either as a Reporting Agent or an ERO. This process takes approximately 10 days with the IRS.

First update your Form 8633 telling the IRS you will be e-filing the 941 (you can usually fax this form to update). Then as a Reporting Agent, file a form 8655 to obtain your 5 digit PIN. Have each of your clients sign form 8655 authorizing you to e-file their 941 Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return and also file those forms with the IRS. You can obtain further information by calling the E-File Help Desk at 866-255-0654.

As an ERO you are required to update your Form 8633 informing the IRS that you will be e-filing 941's and then your clients are required to obtain their own PIN and give that PIN to you in order to E-file that form.
