If you have been using TaxSlayer Books all year to track your companies payments then you can easily generate 1099's by:
1.) First verify that you have checked the correct 1099 type at the SETUP>Change Vendor; Purchase Information screen and their status is Active.
To print your 1099s in TaxSlayer Books, go to the Reports icon from the toolbar, click on payroll, and select form 1099/1096.
If you are printing 1099s for your vendors select option 1099-Forms. These can be printed on plain white paper. If you are printing 1099s for the IRS choose 1099-Forms for IRS. These will have to be printed on the red IRS pre-printed forms. Note- It is very important to print out all of your 1099s. This will create the 1096 summary that you need to send the IRS. Next, choose which 1099 form you would like to print and then select all vendors. Make sure the year for which you are printing the 1099s is correct and click ok. If you are printing 1099s for the IRS, the program will ask if you have loaded the preprinted 1099 forms. If you haven't already done so, please load the red IRS approved pre-printed 1099 forms and select ok.
